OMSs treat thousands of patients each year affected with conditions such as facial trauma, temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ) and congenital anomalies.  Current law requires that OMSs seek a referral from an allopathic or osteopathic physician when physical therapy is part of a Medicare patient's treatment.  Such consultation is inefficient and delays patient treatment.

Please contact your senators and ask them to introduce a companion bill to H.R. 5590, the Medicare Oral Health Rehabilitative Enhancement Act to allow OMS physical therapy referral under Medicare.
